Importance of High Quality Print Marketing

All successful businesses have a characteristic or quality which makes them stand out from the crowd.

The same story should occur when it comes to business marketing - your company’s marketing materials should separate yourself from the rest of the competition. There are many options of colors, papers, and finishes, but it’s all a matter of the story you want to tell and the creativity you want to utilize in order to achieve this success. High quality print marketing is a sure way to reinforce the strength of your brand - here are 6 tips to ensuring high quality print marketing!

1. Choose a high quality paper stock

Cheap paper makes your business look the same way, which is why your choice of paper stock is very important.  Here’s a chart that can help you choose the right paper stock for your print project …

… and here are just few types of paper to choose from:

2. Incorporate specialty effects

Die cut:  This option could be a way to add class to your print marketing material.  It can also help define your brand by whatever design you decide to die cut.

Foil stamp:  Make your print “pop!” with foil stamping. By incorporating foil stamping into your print marketing, you are increasing the perception of your brand’s quality and it helps make your printed pieces stand out from the crowd with the shine of the foil.

Embossing: This process produces an eye-catching three-dimensional effect on the surface of a sheet of paper that adds a tactile experience. It is also a technique that is commonly combined with foil stamping

3. Select the right binding

Coil binding is a great alternate to using saddle-stitching (staples). This binding will give your marketing material a more classy and professional appearance.  Common uses include being used for catalogs, booklets, or an upcoming presentation.

Wire-O binding is similar to coil binding, but has a more refined look and features double-wire loops. This option will make your marketing material look even more professional and allows for pages to open 360 degrees.

4. Utilize Unique Coatings

Coated paper: It can give your print marketing the elegant look you’re hoping to capture through its shiny or matte finish.  It can also protect your direct mail pieces from getting damaged in the mail with scuff marks.

Aqueous:  This is a clear water-based coating that is thinner than UV coating.  It looks beautiful on brochures, magazine covers, and presentation folders.  It provides a high-gloss or matte surface that deters dirt and fingerprints.

Soft Touch:  This coating creates a velvety, smooth texture.  The paper becomes "soft" to the touch and increases the tactile appeal for users. Using this feature on business cards, business folders or booklets will no doubt enhance your clients’ experience.

5. Choose Offset printing

If you are printing large quantities, offset printing will be your best choice for quality and volume.  When stacked against digital printing, offset will be more color accurate and able to print larger sheets in a quicker timeline. You will get high quality results.

6. Ask Your Printer

Your printer will know best and can give you suggestions - if you have any questions, we’re happy to help clarify your issue!
